My daughter pointed to this fellow so that I could try to get his picture. There were 40 inches of snow on the ground, but he found one of the few clear places to sit.

Crow

I spent some time trying to get a picture of a cr a crow flying so that I could get a sense of what they look like. It is tricky for me to catch the bird and end up with a fairly clear picture.

Pumpkin

Pumpkin is a young bird whose picture showed me how beautiful he is.

Still Howling After All These Years

This is Ingle, who is an 11 year old guide dog. He ended up having a really good time visiting with Noki and this picture shows that.

A Baby Marsh Turtle

This picture came from the Georgia Sea Turtle Center on Jekyll Island. I asked a worker to stand still for a picture while she was moving this little one to a feeding tub. I was hoping that I got the hand and the turtle in the picture and am delighted to get to check this turtle out on my monitor.

A Curious Sea Turtle

We were told that when these large turtles begin to feel better, they get curious about the boundaries of the tanks because they aren't used to the experience of boundaries. I could see a dark spot in the water, but this picture allows me to get a real view of a sea turtle. This would be impossible for me to see without the aid of a camera and a monitor.

The Kiss

This picture showed me many things I had never seen before. I had no idea there was so much going on on the lip of a horse. This is one of my favorite pictures

Play

When I see dogs playing it looks like color spots moving around. This picture allows me to see how Snow and Noki define fun.

Hey!

Snow has just snatched the toy from Noki's teeth. I love the positioning and expressions the camera allows me to see.

Charlie

If Charlie doesn't already say, "Pretty Bird," he needs to learn to say it. I might be able to get a sense of this bird's size and some of the yellow cast if I put my face against the cage, but this picture shows me so much more of his beauty.

Ziggy

Ziggy is usually darting around, so I had to get a picture of her on the go.

Frank

Frank lives in a local shop and does not hesitate to express his feelings about the guide dog sitting outside his window.

Noki

This photograph allows me to enjoy a beautiful scene that I would not be able to take in with the naked eye. The flowers are small and the colors, though they are various and bright, do not offer stark contrast, which is the easiest thing for me to see..

Sunday Morning

These horses were having fun running through the field and I took the picture to get a look at something other than dark spots against the green background.

Just A Starling

When I saw this bird it looked like a black or dark gray spot that was hopping around. When I saw the enlarged bird I was amazed by the beautiful colors. I am anxious to get a better picture of this type of bird. I asked at a presentation what kind of bird it was and someone said, "Oh it's just a starling."

New Heights

This dog was having lots of fun at the park. I took a lot of time trying to guess when to snap the picture, but managed to catch a jump or two as it was happening. I thoroughly enjoy getting to examine the positioning and grace of the animal jumping. If I was really close to the dog and did not have a camera, I might be able to tell that it was going up in the air. The camera allows me to see the extension of the back legs, the rigid extension of the tail, the begging paws and the opened mouth.

Bird Watching

The owner of Kitty told me she was waiting under the bushes for birds. I couldn't see her but aimed the camera toward the end of the bushes and got this picture.

A Hole In The Fence

While walking with a friend, we came upon this visitor from the other side of the fence.

I have passed this hole, complete with dog nose, many times, but it wasn't until I passed it with a camera, that I got the chance to see the nose I had so often heard snuffling.

When I enlarged the picture, I was able to have a sense of the sweetie, who has so many times watched us go by through the hole in the fence

Butterfly

This is one of my early gifts. A dear friend told me that there was a butterfly on the butterfly bush and pointed it out for me. I would NEVER see this detail without a picture

Oma

Oma at the beach is a picture of a special time. I took several shots with her looking away or sniffing but managed to get this one too. I love it because it reminds me of times we shared, when Oma was off duty and simply having fun as a dog.

What I Did On My Day Off

A shot of Oma playing at the beach lets me see her actual action,` instead of simply seeing a dark spot move.

Horse Race

The taking of this picture was described on the home page. The enlarged picture makes it possible for me to see positioning of the horses' legs and bodies and to see how jockeys ride.

The Colt

This little guy was out standing in his field. I could find him with a monocular (half of a pair of binoculars), but could not see where he was with my naked eye. I again used the point and shoot method, where I ask someone to point at the thing I want to photograph, so that I can aim the shot.

Almost There

Look at the young vs. old leg positioning in these two horses. I had no idea that this picture would show that, but isn't it cool? I would never see that kind of detail without a big picture.

Squirrel

Squirrels can do a lot of chattering sometimes, and this one made enough noise that I went and got binoculars to try to see where he was in the big tree outside my 2nd story apartment. Eventually, I found him and tried to memorize his position, so that I could get this picture. There were many "squirreless" pictures taken before I got this one.

Here I Come To Save The Day!!

This fun challenge happened with the help of a friend who said "now" when Oma started to jump. It took at least a dozen attempts to get this, but it was so much fun to try.

Friends

Oma and Trouble were good buddies, so I tried to get a picture of them together. I didn't know that Trouble's tongue was out, until I enlarged the picture.

Ready

I had a ball in one hand and a camera in the other for this picture.

Shy Tiger

This is a young tiger. I didn't know if I would be able to see him at all when I took the picture, but the end result was surprising.

I often take a lot of pictures to see where I have been and what was there. These gals look like they were posing, but I didn't know that until I blew up the picture.

A friend pointed this golden orb spider out to me, and I was able to get a picture that shows me what these beauties can do. Isn't that incredible? I would never have guessed that this is what it looked like.

This shot was taken in recognition of the gift of spending time with dogs. The man is a wonderful painter who lives amidst the beauty of the Creator's paint job on the Ozark foot hills.

Please Don't Go

I would never have seen this lion's paw and the woman's foot without someone to point it out to me, a camera to take the picture, and a way to enlarge the picture.

Turtle Push-Up

I would not have known that these turtles were there, if a friend hadn't told me about them. I couldn't see them when I was taking the picture.

Full House

This picture was taken, after someone I was walking with announced that there was a cat on that porch. I asked them to point to the cat and actually touched her arm to determine where to aim the camera.

I couldn't see the cat in the picture, so I zoomed in on it and can now enjoy the cat.

Sleeping Beauty

I wanted to know what Noki looked like when she was sleeping, but I would need to be inches from her face to see her clearly, and she would, of course, wake up. So, I took a picture, enlarged it, and enjoy it.
