Just Missing A Kid
Someone's porch in snowy Pittsburgh. All that is missing is a kiddo to use that sled.
Hidden Hydrant
A Christmas Card
Winter Pile Up
Icicles

Creation Falls
This picture allows me to get a sense of the design of the stream and the flow of the water. It doesn't do much toward duplicating the sound though, does it?
On The Rocks
I took this picture because I thought it was inspiring to see a large tree growing on top of rocks. A friend pointed out that the tree roots looked kind of like a lizard.
Zinnias
These flowers were patches of bright color until I saw this picture enlarged.
Bright Water
When I took this picture, I could see dark on either side and gold in the middle. When I saw the picture enlarged, I was delighted by how much there was to see. I am particularly fond of the bark on the tree.
Threshold
A view from under a natural bridge at Carter Caves State Park. I like the sense of two worlds captured in the picture.
Brilliance
The brilliance of these colors touched me deeply. It was a delight to find that the camera could save the awe of a moment so well
Le Matin
The owner of this wonderful French bakery had some fun with their fountain and I got a chance to capture the site with my camera. I thoroughly enjoyed zooming in on the picture and getting to see the droplets of water.

Roadside View
This was an attempt to capture the sun rays.
Back Door View
The view from the back door of a gift shop at the Rock Castle River Trading Company.
Wagon Wheel
This scene caught my eye so I took a picture to see how it looked when it was enlarged.
The House
These vibrant colors called to be photographed.
Drips On Moss
I heard the water, which led me to this picture.
Steps Into The Woods
I thought this was unusual enough to warrant a picture.
High Bridge
I took several photographs of this bridge without a train and just had to see if I could capture the train in a picture.
Red Barn
While being surrounded by beautiful green, I spotted something red and took a picture to find out what it was.
Up Close & Personal
Filling the entire frame with an object gives a unique view.

Today's Omagosh 1
I was fascinated by the colors and wanted to see if a picture would show the brightness.

Spring
I used to walk along this block and enjoy the phlox, as I passed them. But this picture makes it possible for me to see the bigger picture I could not enjoy the view of the 20 yards of phlox because I cannot see detail that far away.
I was curious about what the upper part of this tree looked like, so I took this picture and enlarged it to check it out. Now I can tell the arrangement of the branches and enjoy the little patches of sunlight on the trunk of the tree.
Tree 1
These two pictures were taken while I was walking on St. Simons Island, GA. The sunlight caught my attention, and I was curious to see what the scenes looked like, so I took pictures.
Tree 2
The sun made this area look very bright to me, but the picture shows a wonderful balance of shadow and light.
The brightness of the sun behind the leaves caught my attention, so I shot the picture. I was delighted to see the picture which let me examine a much larger area. Aren't the colors fantastic?
Killdeer Eggs
Office mates told me that there were eggs in the gravel by the edge of our building. I went out and tried to find them but could not see them. I went back into the office and got Oma, my guide dog, and she sniffed out the eggs, when I took her to the gravel. I asked her to sit and stay, while I snapped the picture.
Red River Gorge Pictures
I enjoy the bright foliage with the blue background.
These pictures were all inspired by the glorious colors I saw. Even two years after cataract surgery, I am deeply touched by the beauty of colors.
Pictures make it possible for me to enjoy a much larger vista than I can appreciate by looking with eyes alone.
Leaf
This leaf caught my eye, and I thought it would make a nice picture. When I saw it blown up, I found the background of bark and moss to be quite wonderful too.
The Yellow Rose Of Pittsburgh
This rose has a delicate arrangement of petals, that I cannot see clearly without magnification. I took the picture to be able to appreciate the beauty of this amazing creation. Imagine my surprise, when I discovered that there was a green grasshopper in the flower! I didn't know it was there until I enlarged the photo. I had never seen a grasshopper before.
The color and design of flowers fill me with awe. Photography broadens my perspective of everything it captures and magically transforms a splotch of color into something quite different.
Dogwood
I love this delicate blossom.
Flat Creek Wild Flower
I was shown this beautiful flower on a walk in the woods and had to take its picture, as I had never seen anything quite like it before.
Water Lily
This flower is beautiful by itself, but I was amazed to see water tension, which I had never seen before. I took the picture for the flower and got the water tension as an unexpected bonus.
Look at all of those petals! This picture turned a large red/orange spot into an arrangement of dozens of petals.
Scaevola
A neighbor planted this beautiful pot of blue flowers, and I enjoyed the color so much, that I took a picture to see what the detail looked like.
Orchid
The description of this picture can be found on my Home Page.
Black & White Dogwood
Sometimes I just enjoy playing with pictures to see what I get.
Golden Ice
I could see what looked like golden light on the tree and wanted to get a closer look.
Winter Wires
This picture was taken so I could see what it looked like. I knew the wires would be covered in ice, but I didn't know if there were drips of ice or fat, icy wires.
The Gate
This is one of my favorite pictures. The ice fell off this gate when I opened it after taking this picture.
Early Sunset
A pretty view from a friend's porch.
Early Sunset 2
This was the same sunset as the picture above, but it was taken a little later.
Golden Sunset
A picture of this gave me the opportunity to look at the many different areas of the sunset. What I saw before taking this picture were bright, but vague patterns of color and light.
Allegheny Sunset
I didn't realize that the picture captured the lock, until I zoomed up on it.
Clouds
Clouds are too far away for me to see clearly, but a picture can bring clouds closer. Using a magnifying glass, reading glasses, or computer enlargment gives me a much better view.
Old Spring
I was with a group of people who were "ooing and ahing", as I stood where this picture was taken. I had no idea what they were seeing that was so interesting, until I got home and brought this picture up on the computer.
What's That
The question in my mind was, "What's that dark area"? The answer was in the blown up picture.
Cotton Candy
This tree looked like cotton candy to me. The picture showed me the strands.
Cherry Blossom Road
It took a lot of paatience to get this picture without a car in it. There were a lot of people enjoying this view.
Spring Beauty
Spring at the Lexington Cemetery
Snow Blossoms
From a distance, these trees look like they are covered in snow to me. Zooming in on a picture changes the view and the season.
Tulum
This scene felt pretty to me, so I took a picture.
Cenote
Look closely at the picture of this Cenote in Mexico, and you can see some of the underwater rock formations. I could not see these while standing on the edge of the Cenote. An added bit of fun with this picture is the illusion of a face in the rocks on the right side. Some have even seen a profile of a face in the light area to the left of the front view of the face. I guess we can all see things differently.
Speed Bump
This is a speed bump in Coba, Mexico.
I didn't believe it until I touched it, and then I had to take a picture.
